Techno Savvy Teacher

Julie Ball, a middle school library media specialist for the School District of Hillsborough County , has over fourteen years of experience teaching science education and incorporating technology in the classroom. Julie earned her BS from the University of South Florida where she was enrolled in the SCATT honors program. Julie has served on state committees to write science standards, certification exams, and the School District of Hillsborough County's middle school science curriculum. In 2002 Julie was recognized by her colleagues as Coleman Middle School's Teacher of the Year. Julie was also recognized in 2007 as the School District of Hillsborough County's Science Teacher of the Year . Currently, Julie is a power player in technology integration at her school site and is redesigning the library media center to include various digital media threads. Julie facilitates several teacher and student technology projects in addition to supporting school-wide technology integration initiatives. Julie joined Techno Savvy Teacher in August, 2008 as a MAC expert and continues to play a key role in workshop development and delivery. Julie is currently in the process of becoming an Apple Distinguished Educator.
